The besieged Gaza Strip has been without electricity since October 11, according to the UN-run Gaza Electricity Distribution Company (GEDCO). In a report on Sunday (December 3), Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported this news.
According to the report, Israel cut off electricity supply to Gaza on October 8. Just two days later, power supply from the GEDCO power plant stopped completely.
Before the October blackout, Gaza had an average of 13 hours of electricity per day from January to September, according to UN data.
Incidentally, the Gaza Strip has been suffering from a chronic electricity shortage for the past decade. Which has already taken a terrible shape.
It should be noted that at least 180 Palestinians were killed in Gaza by Israeli attacks before the end of the ceasefire. The death toll in the ongoing invasion has exceeded 15,000.
