Partial inauguration of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project is being held today. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate this railway from Dhaka to Mawa over Padma Bridge to Faridpur. Already several experimental trains have run on this railway. Bangladesh Railway will run commercial trains on this route a week after its inauguration on Tuesday (October 10). And through this, the people of the south-western region can enjoy the double benefits of the Padma Bridge.
Road traffic over the Padma Bridge started a few years ago. However, the people of the south-west region were waiting for the train to pass through the ground floor of the two-story Padma Bridge. That dream is going to be fulfilled today. Although the Padma Bridge rail link project is running from Dhaka to Jessore, today the first phase is being launched from Dhaka to Banga Station in Faridpur via Padma Bridge.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for Mawa Railway Station from Ganobhaban at 10 am. He will attend the inauguration ceremony of the Dhaka-Bhanga section of the Padma Setu Rail Link Project there and unveil the name plaque. Later, board the train at 12:45 PM and cross the Padma Bridge to reach Faridpur Bhanga Railway Station.
