Israel maintains a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip amid a battle with the Palestinian armed group Hamas. Israeli Defense Minister Yav Galant announced this on Monday.
The Defense Minister is reviewing the situation with the Southern Command of the Israel Defense Forces. In this, he said, 'I have ordered a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip. Everything including electricity, food, gas will be stopped there. We are fighting human animals and we have to act accordingly.'
The Gaza Strip is 41 km long and 10 km wide on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Most of the border is with Israel, the rest with Egypt. About 23 lakh people live here. As a result, it has become one of the most densely populated areas in the world.
