The Gaza Strip is on the brink of a new humanitarian crisis, authorities say, after Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip in response to attacks by the Palestinian armed group Hamas.
Residents say no aid has arrived in the Gaza Strip since Saturday, and on Monday Israel announced a "total blockade" of the area - saying electricity, food, fuel and water supplies would be cut off.
About 2.3 million people live in Gaza, 80 percent of whom depend on aid.
More than 500 people have died in Israel's counter-attack.
Israel controls Gaza's airspace and its coastline, and controls who or what kind of goods can cross its border.
Egypt also strictly controls the entry of people or any goods through the Gaza border.
Israel has cut off all supplies, including food and medicine, to Gaza since the attack began on Saturday morning.
Many are currently without electricity and internet service, and may have been cut off from essential food and water supplies.
Authorities have warned that the Gaza Strip will run out of fuel within 24 to 72 hours. The UN humanitarian agency OCHA has warned that the remaining fuel will last only a few days.
Even before the latest sanctions, residents of Gaza were already suffering from widespread food insecurity, movement restrictions and water shortages.
